Sorry it has been a bit of time between posts but my last couple have been taken as PR pieces by media outlets (you can see them here).
Am off to Sydney on Friday through Wednesday next week and am going to have a good look at the Master Franchise opportunities I have listed on my website. Has been a little difficult to get serious interest in these at present, because it’s probably a little difficult for prospects to be able to fund Greenfield’s opportunities in the current market. So I am off to Sydney to have a chat with the Franchisors to see if we can work out some payment terms on the upfront fees to be able to make it easier for interested parties to get involved.
One of the systems Blow Dry Bar, seen here, have allowed us to sell a couple of actual franchises here in CBD Auckland to get a presence here in NZ and to make it easier later on for a Master Franchisee to come on board. The franchisee once recruited will have a franchise agreement direct with BDB in Australia. We see no problem with this because Auckland is closer to HO in Sydney than Perth in Western Australia, so support will be no problem. BDB is going great guns in Australia and we expect it will here too, with busy ladies looking for affordable luxuries.
Also have some meetings set up with our partner in Australia, Global Franchise Partners, on new opportunities which we will possibly be looking to release to the market. There seem to be a number of food based systems looking to enter NZ market.
As far as the businesses we have on the Market, we have good interest in Mr Green, U-Sell Park & Ride franchises in Auckland (could do with interested parties in Wellington/Christchurch) and our Import and Distribution business has strong interest. Again our Temp Agency in Waikato could do with some more interest too.
All in all Switch Business is going quite well now that I have been able to adjust to Paul’s exit. My daughter coming on in a Marketing role has been extremely helpful and she has signed an employment contract to stay until end of 2014 year.
We also have a couple of acquisitions underway at present. This is generally buyers who are a little frustrated waiting for something to hit the market and have engaged us to find them something. It’s a good way to go in this market with so little coming up for sale.
Hope all is well with everybody. We are now on a slippery slope towards Christmas. Those of you that need to lose a little weight and are situated in CBD Auckland come and see one of our trainers at Balance CBD, see here, right next door to the Switch Offices. Have myself been working out with Paul doing a Kettle Bell routine and this is the first Xmas in a while where I am happy to hit the beach and not look like a beached whale. Mention you read it here and we can give you Corporate rate.
