Well there is a good reason I have time to write this blog. Why? Because I have pretty much sold everything. Besides having numerous Master Franchise and Franchise opportunities available, we are a little short on the larger, general-business side of the business.

We sold an Import Distribution business just prior to Christmas with an EV around $1m and in late January a larger Heavy Removals/Engineering business with an EV in the mid-$3m range. The larger business never hit the market because I have been dealing with the buyers for a period of time and the moment I had this business available I had them pegged.

Since getting back from the holiday season I have caught up with the other brokers and banks that I deal with and most say the same, that there is very little on the market at present. The often asked question I suppose is why, with such measurable buyer interest, low interest rates and very little competition for buyers the baby-boomers should be rushing to the market.

We could certainly do with good sized opportunities in any or all of the following:
• Import/Distribution
• Engineering
• Logistics
• Manufacturing (NZ or China)
• IT business
• Infrastructure
• Any other business with EBIT >$1m
