April Already

Easter holidays has come and gone, and we are into another short week with ANZAC day falling on a Friday this year. The smart people have taken Tuesday-Thursday off work as well, so they’re enjoying a long Easter break. We’ve got too much on at the moment to do that, but better to be busy than quiet right?

The weather seemed to take a turn for the worse at the end of last week. The end of the tropical cyclone that hit definitely seemed to pack more of a punch than Cyclone Lusi the month before. Felt my building sway in the wind ever so slightly, which was a strange feeling when you’re up 31 floors. Even told my daughter to come in later on in the day as I don’t think her small car would have handled the 100kmph winds very well.

Speaking of my daughter, we made the decision last month that the office was a bit too big for the two of us and have since moved Switch Business to my home. Have been slowly moving things from one space to the other but I think it’s the right move for us. Means we have another space available for rent if you’re looking for a chic and stylish office in Auckland’s CBD.

The ‘gym’ has also had a complete makeover since we cleared the rest of the equipment last month. The carpet has been ripped up, bathrooms ripped out and walls taken down. Such a big area now that it’s all one space. Hopefully the concrete floors will be polished in the next couple of weeks.  Have had my friend managing the project for us and him and his team definitely work quick and well. Highly impressed with the work they’ve done so far, can’t wait to see it finished.

We’re hoping to close a few deals within the next few weeks which is always exciting, and a few new ones that we will release to the market. We have one of our clients visiting from the US again soon. The last time she was here she jumped off the Sky Tower, so we’ll see if there are any other adrenaline junkie tasks that she could perform while she’s here. If you’ve got any ideas feel free to let us know!
