Hello again, I hope is well with you and yours. I have a bit of spare time before I go out and play Wednesday Businessmen's Golf at Titirangi so I thought I might tap out a short blog.
Have been thinking for a while that it might be time for myself personally and for Switch Business to diversify a little. Will still be primarily business brokers but I am keen to get into a little direct sales and consultancy.
One initiative I am investigating is a consultancy/coaching product I am developing with an Australian company, to create 1 year, 2 year and 5 year programmes for business owners wishing to exit their businesses in those time periods, so as to maximise their returns. Around 17 years of Business sales experience gives me a unique perspective on what can/does hinder a sales process and thereby reduce chance of sale and/or proceeds of sale. We hope to have this product ready to go in the new year.
Also have taken on a couple of clients who I have sold their business, to help get them through the first year of business ownership and to help them capture information and create systems that will help them grow and also position for sale later in time.
Think the only way to stay fresh in this world is to add some variety. We tried that with owning a gym but that is a very difficult proposition with the influx of 24hr offerings and reliance on often flighty and unreliable service providers (i.e. personal trainers). Being in charge on your own results has always been a strategy of mine and funny enough when you disregard your gut in these situations more often than not you regret it.
So it will be business as usual with Switch Business but keep an eye out for our new alliances and increased social media presence.
