Even though you know something is going to happen it’s still always a shock when it does. 

Paul Devcich passed away peacefully on the 4th of August with his family present. There wouldn't be a Switch Business if Paul and I hadn't met and thought that we could do it better than the brokerage we were then employed by. He helped me more than he ever knew; I could always do the 'sales' part of the business but his influence means I am now able to look after the less sexy, compliance side of the business too. I was able to say my goodbyes a couple of days before his passing and was able to let him know how much I appreciated our time together. PD R.I.P.

Unluckily for me I talked to Paul on the Friday I was off to Hawaii for a 2 week break, so I missed the funeral. Hawaii though was a treat and it gave me some time to reflect by the pool on Paul's passing.

If you are a golfer Hawaii is a dream destination. The Plantation Course on Maui is now firmly in my top 3 courses that I have played. We played Wailea Emerald which is a superb set up with spectacular scenery. We also played Poipu Bay a couple of times when we were on Kaua'i and again that is a spectacular course, especially the elevated tees coming in over the cliffs. Have to be a reasonable wind player though because it is always blowing.

Well I am back at my desk and have a number of businesses that I am readying for the market. Mr Green settled while I was away and we wish Murray all the best with his purchase.

To continue on the family vein my wife has joined my daughter and I working from our office in O’Connell Street. We are going to integrate her business Proactivity Ltd into Switch.
